Radical action to eliminate malaria in endemic zones

Malaria-Endemic Countries Unite to Extend Malaria Control to Hard-To-Reach Migrant and Mobile Communities

Ministers of Health from Malaria-Endemic Countries have adopted the Victoria Falls Declaration in which they commit to eliminate and expand malaria control to hard-to-reach migrant and mobile communities.

Participate in GMAP2 online consultation

GMAP2 toolkit
The GMAP2 Task Force met with the team preparing the Global Technical Strategy (GTS), the technical document that will accompany the second Global Malaria Action Plan. The Task Force members were briefed on the outcomes of all the regional, country and community consultations, and on the responses from the first wave of key informant interviews and the online survey. So far, more than 1,000 people have been directly engaged in the consultative process, with many more giving their input via social media.

Central African Sub Regional Network looks for evidence based data to improve malaria programme decision making

Anthropologists, socio-economists, parasitologists, entomologists, and clinicians from DRC, Congo, Chad, Gabon, Cameroon, as well as WHO national offices and inter-country teams, met with National Malaria Control Programme managers and their staff in Doula, Cameroon. They focused on improving malaria programme design with vital evidence collected by research institutions. Together they drafted a declaration of collaboration to strengthen links between researchers and programme planners.

Strengthening and accelerating programming for Malaria in Pregnancy
The Malaria in Pregnancy Working Group (MiP WG) met on 15-16 July in Accra to provide the RBM Partnership with strategic advice on best practices for scaling up interventions for the prevention and control of malaria during pregnancy towards the achievement of RBM targets and MDGs.

Latest report in RBM's Progress & Impact Series launches at the United Nations Headquarters in New York New Progress & Impact Series report "The contribution of malaria control to maternal and newborn health" was launched on 10 July in New York.

“Progress & Impact Series reports now in digital version”
In addition to being downloadable as PDFs, all P&I thematic and country reports are now available for reading online as interactive publications across all digital devices (tablets, computers, smartphones). All charts, graphs and maps contained in the reports can be saved individually, most of them being also provided as editable files to readers for their personal use.
