Leaders at East Asia Summit Commit to a Malaria Free Asia Pacific by 2030

APLMA Summit

Leaders of the 18 East Asia Summit countries have committed to an ambitious goal of eliminating malaria from the entire Asia Pacific region in the next 15 years. The region-wide commitment builds on strong political and technical leadership provided by the co-chairs of the Asia Pacific Leaders Malaria Alliance - Prime Ministers of Australia and Viet Nam.

Malaria takes life of a Cuban health worker responding to Ebola

A member of the Cuban health team responding to Ebola in Guinea died of malaria on October 26. Jorge Juan Guerra Rodriguez, a 60-year-old economist, was initially treated for diarrhoea, a symptom of both malaria and Ebola, before he got diagnosed with cerebral malaria, a complication of the parasitic infection that severely and often fatally damages the brain.

RBM Harmonization Working Group Concept Note Mock TRP Review Workshop 19-21 November 2014, Kampala Uganda

The RBM Partnership`s Harmonization Working Group (HWG) will hold a three-day Concept Note mock TRP Review Workshop 19-21 November 2014 at the Lake Victoria Serena Resort Hotel in Kampala, Uganda. Expected outcomes from the Workshop include recommendations for improving country concept notes and developing a rapid response strategy for addressing urgent country support needs prior to concept note submission.
